Your Chakras Are Not Just Wheels. They're Places You Can Live.
Most of us learn about chakras the same way. Seven energy centers. Colors. Functions. Maybe a spinning wheel visualization if you've taken a yoga class or two. Root is red, stability. Heart is green, love. Crown is violet, connection to something bigger.
That framework isn't wrong. But it's incomplete.
What if your energy centers weren't just concepts to understand — but actual places you could inhabit? Dimensional spaces with texture, depth, character, and history? Places you could return to, build relationships with, and develop over years of practice?
That's what I want to talk about today.
What if your energy centers weren't just concepts to understand — but actual places you could live?
Why 'Clear Your Mind' Never Worked for Me
I have ADHD. The instruction to 'clear your mind and go within' was essentially an invitation to watch my thoughts spiral for twenty minutes and then give up. My brain doesn't do empty. It does busy. Always.
So instead of fighting that, I started building.
I began constructing actual landscapes inside my energy centers — places my mind could go and explore instead of being asked to stop. Instead of trying to visualize nothing, I gave myself something to look at. Something to walk around in. Something to tend.
And something interesting happened. The more I built, the more I could see. The more I visited, the deeper the relationship became. My clairvoyance developed not through forcing stillness — but through having somewhere to go.
What I'm sharing here isn't a guided visualization I found in a book. These are the actual landscapes I've built inside my own energy field over years of practice. I'm showing you mine so you understand what's possible — and so you can start building your own.
The Chakra Architecture — A Tour
A note before we begin: if you already know the basics of chakras, the brief descriptions below are just orientation. The real content is in the landscape itself — what it means to build relationship with these spaces rather than just understand them.
🌱 Root Chakra — The Grounded Cemetery Grove
Color: Red | Foundation: Safety, Belonging, Ancestry
My root chakra is a grove of ancient redwood trees — red-barked, enormous, the kind that feel like they've been standing since before human memory. There's a bench near a small cemetery. A fairy mushroom circle that serves as a portal to the elementals.
The cemetery isn't morbid. It's honoring.
I do genealogy research. I clean headstones. I create virtual memorials for loved ones who have passed over, my own ancestors and people I don’t know. The root chakra isn't just about 'earth connection' in an abstract sense — it's about connection to those who came before. The lineage you stand on. The people whose choices and sacrifices made your existence possible.
Your roots don't just go into the ground. They go into history. They go into ancestry. They go into the people who held the thread long before you picked it up.
What lives in YOUR root? Who came before you that deserves to be honored there?
🦋 Sacral Chakra — The Transformation Space
Color: Orange | Foundation: Creativity, Pleasure, Emotion
Black and orange butterflies everywhere. Caterpillars of the same color in various stages of becoming. The image of transformation as the central organizing principle — fear changing into pleasure, darkness changing into flight.
I also keep my crystalline blueprint here. The divine pattern of who I am at soul level — stored in the center of transformation. Which makes sense, if you think about it. The blueprint isn't static. It unfolds as you become.
The sacral center holds both fear and pleasure. That's not an accident. The same space that holds your deepest joy also holds what you're most afraid to feel. When you build relationship with this space, you stop trying to push one out to make room for the other — and start understanding how they move together.
What transformation is currently underway in your sacral space? What's still in the cocoon?
☀️ Solar Plexus — The Beach of Elements
Color: Yellow | Foundation: Personal Power, Confidence, Will
My power center is a beach. Bright sun — my personal sun. Warm yellow sand. An ocean full of sharks, octopus, colorful fish, and coral.
What I love about this landscape is that all four elements are present simultaneously: fire in the sun, water in the ocean, earth in the sand, air in the wind off the water. My power isn't found in any one element — it's found when they all work together.
The creatures aren't decoration. The shark represents sovereignty and power — the apex predator who knows exactly what it is and makes no apologies. The octopus represents intelligence and adaptability, doing multiple things at once with grace. Both of which just happen to be two of my favorite animals. The coral is the ecosystem builder — creating community, holding the structure that allows everything else to thrive.
I chose a beach because it's where I feel most like myself. Most reset. Most alive. Your power center should feel like that for you — the place that reminds you of who you actually are.
Where do YOU feel most like yourself? That's a clue about what lives in your solar plexus.
💚 Heart Chakra — The Universe Itself
Color: Green | Foundation: Love, Connection, Compassion
This was the first one I built. Where my meditation practice began. And it became the most elaborate space of all — a dimensional command center that I've been tending for years.
At the center is my physical heart, suspended in a wooden gazebo. Not abstract love — my actual heart, honored and held. Given attention. Shown care.
Below it: an Egyptian heart received as a gift during a shamanic journey, along with other sacred objects I've gathered across lifetimes. Above it: a torch with three flames — blue for twin flame union, gold for Archangel Gabriel's presence, and an encompassing flame I think of as the Holy Grail. Six hundred lifetimes of love created, shared, and brought here to give away, to share with the world.
There's a massive throne where part of Gabriel's consciousness lives permanently — not visits, lives. Tables with abundance prepared for angels who visit. A waterfall where I first learned to cleanse my chakras each day. And behind the waterfall, my original sacred space — where I first connected with my guides before I even knew who they were.
In the trees at the back: light language symbols I saw once in meditation and still don't know the meaning of. I've left them there. Some mysteries deserve to be held without needing to be solved.
The heart space is vast because love is vast. Don't be afraid to fill yours.
What's the first thing you'd put in your heart space if you started building today?
🦋 Throat Chakra — The Redwood Canopy
Color: Blue | Foundation: Communication, Truth, Expression
Here's what I love about my throat chakra: it hold the tops of the same redwood trees from my root.
Same trees. Different level.
My communication is rooted in my foundation. The truth I speak is connected to the ancestry I stand on, the history I carry, the lineage I honor. My voice doesn't exist separately from my roots — it grows from them.
Blue jays live here. If you know blue jays, you know they are not quiet birds. They announce. They proclaim. They are bold and unapologetic about their presence. That's the energy of authentic expression — not tentative, not asking permission, not softening to make others comfortable. Speaking truth clearly and fully, from a place of deep foundation.
Is your voice connected to your roots? Or have you been speaking from a place that doesn't quite feel like home?
👁️ Third Eye — The Alien Dance Party Library
Color: Indigo | Foundation: Intuition, Vision, Perception
I want to be clear about something: my third eye is not a solemn meditation cave.
It's the bridge of a spaceship. There's a massive window viewing the galaxy — shaped like an eye looking out at everything. There's a disco ball. Music. Lights. An alien dance party in full swing.
And on the back wall: a massive library, filling up on its own as I remember things. Books appearing without me putting them there. Knowledge returning.
I share this because I think a lot of people approach their third eye like they're supposed to feel serious about it. Reverent. Like vision is supposed to feel heavy.
Mine is a party. With extraterrestrials. And a growing library of remembering happening in the background while everyone dances.
Joy opens perception. Play opens perception. If your third eye feels stuck or foggy, consider that you might be trying too hard to be spiritual about it — and not having nearly enough fun.
What would your third eye space look like if you built it around what actually delights you?
✨ Crown Chakra — The Rainbow Cloud Portal
Color: Violet/White | Foundation: Divine Connection, Consciousness, Unity
Simple. Open. A hatch at the crown of my head that opens upward. A rainbow that rises. Clouds on each side to sit on. A direct, unobstructed connection to the Divine.
After the elaborate architecture of the other centers, my crown is the simplest space of all. Because the connection to Source doesn't need to be complicated. It just needs to be open.
The rainbow is the bridge. The clouds are where you rest when you arrive. The hatch is yours to open whenever you want.
When did you last open the hatch?
How to Start Building Your Own Landscape
You don't need to build what I built. In fact, you shouldn't — because your energy field is yours. It will look like you, feel like you, and hold what matters to you. I merely filled mine with representational things for me - things I love and care about, colors that are associated with that space, and other objects that connect to the energies found there.
Here's how I'd suggest starting:
1. Pick one chakra to begin with.
Your heart space is a beautiful starting point because it's where most of us feel most connected. But start wherever you feel drawn.
2. Don't try to clear your mind — give it something to explore.
Ask yourself: if this energy center were a place, what would it feel like? What's the terrain? Is it indoor or outdoor? What's the light like? Let your imagination lead. It knows more than you think.
3. Let it be imperfect and evolving.
My spaces have changed significantly over years of practice. Things appear that I didn't put there. Some things shift or move. The space is alive because the relationship is alive.
4. Visit regularly.
This is how clairvoyance develops — not through forcing vision, but through consistent relationship with your inner landscape. The more you visit, the more you can see. The more you can see, the deeper you can go. This also helps build and strengthen that mind, body, spirit connection.
5. Honor what's already there.
You may arrive and find something unexpected. A presence you didn't place. An object you don't recognize. A space that feels like it's been waiting. Trust that. Your energy field has its own wisdom. Your job is to show up and pay attention.
Your energy centers aren't just concepts to understand. They're relationships to develop. Places to tend. Worlds to inhabit.
Most of us were taught to think about our chakras. To learn their colors and functions and associations. To 'work on' our root or 'open' our heart.
But what I've found — through years of building and tending and visiting these spaces — is that the most powerful thing you can do with your energy field is develop a real relationship with it. Not a theoretical one. A lived one.
Go in. Build something. Leave something there that means something to you. Come back tomorrow and see what changed.
Your inner landscape is waiting. It's been waiting your whole life.
You just have to open the door.
