What Nobody Tells You About Doing the Work

A note for those who are doing everything right and still waiting.

I want to talk to the ones who are doing the work.

Not the ones who are thinking about starting. Not the ones who bought the book and haven't opened it yet. The ones who are in it — who have been in it — who have cleared the patterns, done the shadow work, raised their frequency, held the light, shown up for the collective, kept going when it was hard, and then kept going when it was even harder than that.

I want to talk to you specifically, because I think you deserve to have someone say this out loud:

It is okay that it hasn't fully landed in the physical yet. And that doesn't mean you're doing it wrong.

There's a concept in energy work that I call the lag. The gap between the frequency you're holding and the physical reality that hasn't caught up to it yet. Most teachers will mention it briefly and then move on to the tools for closing it. What they don't always say — what I want to say here — is that the lag is real, it's significant, and it costs something to live inside it.

It costs hope. Over time, if nothing shifts in the physical, the most dedicated practitioners start to wonder if any of it is real. If the work actually works. If they've been doing something meaningful or just managing their own psychology with prettier language.

I've sat in that question. I'm not above it. I don't think anyone who's been doing this work honestly for long enough is.

Here's what I want you to know.

The frequency you've built is real. It doesn't evaporate because your bank account hasn't reflected it yet. It doesn't undo itself because the relationship you cleared space for hasn't arrived. The work you've done in your energy body, in your nervous system, in your ancestral line — that is structural. It's in you. It's in your field. It's in the people who come into contact with you without even knowing why they feel different afterward.

The lag isn't evidence that what you’re doing didn't work. It's evidence that you're operating in a world that was built around different rules than the ones you're living by now. You've changed faster than the infrastructure around you. That's not failure. That's being early.

What I've also come to understand — and this is the part that's harder to sit with — is that the systems we're inside of, including some of the cosmic ones, weren't originally designed with the timeline of the human experience in mind. The people holding the highest frequencies are often the ones facing the most material friction. And that is not fair. I'm not going to dress it up as part of the plan or a necessary test or evidence that you're almost there.

What I will say is this: it is being seen. The gap between what you're carrying and what you're receiving is not going unnoticed by the forces you're working with. And the conversation about closing that gap — in real, practical, physical terms — is one worth having loudly and without apology.

You are allowed to do extraordinary inner work and also need your lights to stay on. Those two things are not in conflict. Anyone who suggests that material need is a sign of insufficient spiritual development has never had to choose between groceries and rent while holding the frequency of the entire collective.

You are not behind. You are not being punished. You are not missing something that everyone else figured out.

You are doing some of the hardest, most necessary work available on this planet right now, in a body, in linear time, with real bills and real hunger and real exhaustion. And you are still here. You are still going. You haven't put it down.

That is not small. That is extraordinary.

The physical reality will catch up. Keep building the container for it. Keep showing up. And in the meantime — let yourself be witnessed in the full weight of what it costs to carry what you're carrying.

You deserve that much at least.
